It's that time of year!

For Holiday Photo shoots!  Once again, I had the honor of photographing one of the world's most photogenic families! They always know just how to strike a pose! I had a hard time choosing from this shoot...
But this is my favorite!

And here is some artsy!

Love him.  He was "taking our picture!!!"

 Big Brother love...

Mommy Love!
 Daddy fun!

Business and Family

I recently had the pleasure of photographing one of the very first people I met in San Diego - our real estate agent turned good friend!  She wanted some new business shots and then we took a few of her and her son as well.  We had fun, to say the least!  Such magical interaction between the two.  Her son has one of the funnest personalities - he cracks me up!

All Grown Up

These pictures of my niece - going into her senior year - make me realize just how fast the time goes.  All grown up.  Samantha was the cutest darn little girl.  I think of her and her little brother all the time when I look at my own kids.  I remember playing with their toys, being there with them for many Christmas mornings.  They were so much fun!  Samantha stayed with us a few weeks this summer and it was so fun to watch her with my kids... reading to them, playing with them.  It's amazing to watch time unfold before you.

Fun Family

I recently had the pleasure of meeting baby Ben - little brother to Sam.  Such an adorable family.

A big family

I grew up in a big family. 24 immediate family members, as a matter of fact (with spouses). Although large family photo shoots are usually quite challenging,  I really enjoyed today's family (20 family members).  The kids were cooperative, fun, and SUPER cute.  The family was...well, family.  Meaning - warm, friendly, loving, and full of their own humor, sarcasm, and relationships!  They made me a little homesick for my own family and I'm so excited to go home to visit them all in August!
Here's the group shop.  Can you guess who I had to "edit" into the photo?  Only one face, amazingly!

A kid needs to be a kid...

It's not unusual for a kid not to be very cooperative when it's time to have their photo taken.  This is no news to any parent!  I have to say I've been pretty lucky in terms of having some pretty darn cooperative kids to photograph.  My kids aren't really in that camp.  Andrew never looks at the camera anymore.  And Kaelyn.  Well, she needs to be bribed for starters.  And even then she whines the whole time.  Plus - she is at that stage where her "smile" is usually not the best look.  So tonight, in trying to get a few shots together for a Mother's day surprise, I finally let Kaelyn just be a kid.  I think these are actually quite fun!

One Year Old Girly Girl

I recently had the honor of photographing a little one year old named Genevieve.  I coincidentally have a niece with the middle name Genevieve - so rare and beautiful. Anyway - Vievie's mommy wanted to get some "girlie girl" photos and I thought - hey no problem!  But apparently Vievie doesn't really DO girly girl very much!  She was NOT a fan of the tutu. And definitely not a fan of the flower on the head!  But she is the cutest little thing (I swear she's half the size of Andrew and she's 3 months older!). Faster than fast.  And funny!  I want to be her friend!

Here are some fun ones...
